European Countries Recognize Covishield for Traveling

The world may have been stagnant for far too long, but now that the world’s leading countries have vaccinated their citizens, those individuals are being allowed permission to travel across the world.

Now, 7 European nations, Switzerland and Iceland have approved Covishield for travelling. These were the same nations that requested Indian vaccines before rejecting the vaccines and VISAs of those people jabbed with Covaxin and Covishield.

India Made them taste their Own Medicine by saying we won’t accept your vaccine certificates if you don’t recognise and clear Covishield and Covaxin. After this, soon European countries amended their policies to accommodate and approve Indian vaccines. Although, EMA hasn’t approved them, headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

In 2019, 1 crore Indians travelled to Europe on student, work and tourists visa. Almost 10 lakh Indians as of 2018, have Schengen Visas.

Schengen visa is a short-term visa that permits a person to visit any member of the Schengen Area for tourist or business for up to 90 days. The Schengen Area is a collection of 27 European nations that have agreed to remove all passports and other forms of border control at their shared borders. European Union (EU) is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

EMA Approval is Important because:

As far as we know, the EMA has only authorised four vaccines: AstraZeneca (known in Europe as Vaxzernia), Pfizer, Moderna, and Jannsen. As a result, persons who have been vaccinated with these vaccinations are given a Green Pass, allowing them to travel without having to spend 15 days in quarantine in each country.

So, India asked EMA to approve Indian Vaccines, so that, its citizens successfully jabbed with two doses can apply for a Digital green pass.

France is supporting us, but why?

France has been working as an agent of India and talking to the EU and other countries to make them understand the importance of Covaxin and Covishield.

West nations do not regard India as a friend; instead, they perceive us as a large market, which is why they assist us. The world is slowly but surely recognising India’s soft power.

What is EMA’s excuse?

As per them, India hasn’t applied for the approval of Covishield. They haven’t received any applications from the Indian government, Bharat Biotech, or the Indian Serum Institute (SII). SII is optimistic that they will receive EMA clearance within a month.

What is India doing for getting Green Pass for its Citizens?

According to SII, India is in talks with nine nations over green card approvals: Austria, Greece, Iceland, Germany, Slovenia, Ireland, Estonia, Spain, and Switzerland. This demonstrates India’s diplomatic might, while China, Pakistan, and many other South Asian countries are well behind in the situation.

The NDA administration has elevated India’s international status to the point that it is now viewed as a brand rather than simply another country.
