How to Believe in Yourself: A Step-by-Step Guide

Every day we hear stories of a celebrity who has shattered the glasses to reach the place they are today. They have emerged from the crowd which we all are hoarding and have become the pride and heart of the country. They like everybody had a dream and like everybody they were told they are naive or idiots to have such a dream. But despite all those negativity, they showed the naysayers that they were right all along. They achieved their dreams and showed everyone that having a dream is not about feeling sorry for oneself but about fighting and achieving them till the end.

They told everyone, it’s not about just getting fame but the journey which gave them the confidence to keep on fighting every single day of their lives. It’s about the determination that bought them closer to their dreams and the changes they went along with transforming and life-altering dreams.

So, What did They do Differently:

The most essential thing to keep in mind is that it’s all about having faith in yourself and persevering.

  • The first step is to just take one. You will make mistakes along the way, and recognising them will help you achieve your goals. If you acquire this much, you will never quit despite people’s belief of you failing miserably.
  • The second step is to accept that you will not get everything you ever wanted in your life. You need to understand that the journey counts which helps you in finding the next best dream.

Note: You must realise that if you do not take the initial step, your fear of failure will keep you unhappy for the rest of your life.

  • The third step to keep in mind is that you do not need someone’s approval to chase your dream. You must convince yourself that you are capable of accomplishing practically anything.
  • Learning from your mistakes is the fourth phase. You must examine your mistakes and consider how you would have handled them differently if given a second chance. It is not about giving up or feeling sorry for yourself; it is about staying and fighting. We are all familiar with Thomas Elva Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, who failed 100 times and declared, “I know 100 ways of not manufacturing the light bulb,” when asked about his failures.

What If you do not have a dream?

You should write down the things that interest you or the things that excite you. And make those things your dream and hop along your journey.

What if you don’t have a passion for something and have been following your parents’ or friends’ aspirations?

You need to discover yourself, you need to understand your soul in and out. But before that, you need to figure out whether you want those things for yourself or not. You need to go on a journey to apprehend yourself.

What you should do when you are achieving your goals?

You should not get too excited and remain sane because the dream that has become your reality can go away anytime. Make sure you follow your inner soul, not your new formed belief that revolves around enjoying the material things and wasting away your money.

Remember, you should never squander your life on what-ifs and buts. You only have one life to live, so make the most of it. If you’re doing anything for your parents or society, keep in mind that they won’t be there for long, they’ll always talk, and it’ll be easier for you to accept it all in the form of good criticism and evaluate them while you’re still pursuing your dreams.
