The world has not been the same since COVID-19. It disrupted the lives and functioning of governments across the globe. People have been trying to pick up the pace but the escalation in the COVID 19 cases with the infections has made it a Sisyphean task. It has made living very difficult with a lot of pain to undergo.
The world has been blaming China for the outspread of COVID 19. Some call it a Bio-Weapon used by China to cripple the countries around the world while some call it Payback of Nature.
To understand the root of COVID-19, WHO tried and did some research but couldn’t find a trace back to Wuhan Labs. WHO said a leak from the lab was unlikely.
So, the US government pitched in to find the source of the virus origin. US President Joe Biden has instructed US intelligence services to “REDOUBLE” their efforts to figure out where COVID-19 came from. He urged them to discover whether it came from human-animal contact or through a lab accident. He asked them to report back to him in 90 days.
He asked China to cooperate fully in an international inquiry that is comprehensive, transparent, and evidence-based, and thus to allow access to all relevant data and evidence. The origins of the SARS-COV-2 virus commenced with the outbreak in Early 2020 in Wuhan, China.
The US government believes that several researchers inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick in Autumn 2019. To which Ex-President Donald trump said, now everybody agrees with me when I very early on called Wuhan the source of COVID-19.
China has slammed Biden and accused Washington of turning a blind eye to the facts. They said, WHO-China joint study clearly states a laboratory origin is unlikely, which is a conclusion based on science.
China accused the US of using the pandemic to pursue stigmatisation and political manipulations to move the blame. Instead of examining its own behaviour – 33 million cases and 600,000 deaths from COVID-19, it is striving to scapegoat China.
As per the WHO report, the lab outbreak was extremely unlikely but it also further concluded that there was a need for further research. To which India said, further studies and data are needed to reach robust conclusions. India has asked for a thorough and expert-led mechanism to examine the origin of COVID-19. As per India, the possible alternatives that led to the pandemic were:
- A laboratory Accident
- Introduction via the cold chain or food chain
- A direct Zoonotic Transmission
- The initiation of the virus through another intermediate host or animal.
My views:
I feel it is a good step to find the root of the source. Pandemic has made us see the worse days we could have imagined and it is every person’s right to know the origin of the Virus. Something like this doesn’t fall from the sky. A must step taken by the US government and India supporting the action is only befitting.
The fact that makes China the suspect apart from the origin of the pandemic is, it being the only G20 country that has grown by 2.3 per cent after being struck with COVID 19.
