The world is approaching the end with climate change, zoonotic diseases and warfare weapons. The prevailing situation in the country and the globe is getting worse day by day. Every day thousands of new COVID 19 cases are being registered.
During the first phase of COVID 19, Sanitizers and Masks played a vital role. And with its decline, we thought COVID 19 Vaccines will do the rest.
But it was far from over. With time, people’s negligence, stupidity and COVID 19 mutants increased exponentially. People thought COVID 19 is now just a myth. They stopped wearing masks and using sanitizers as they thought departed with only Fake News left to scare them.
The government started vaccination in January with doses to healthcare and frontline workers. Then later shifted to senior citizens with Covaxin doses. The second wave of Coronavirus hit us like a quake, brought us back to square one again. The bad news came with vaccine effectiveness measured at 70 per cent.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently said financial help has increased through PMGKY and ANB packages – Direct benefit and in-kind (food; cooking gas) transfers, emergency credit to small businesses and wage in MGNREGA workers.
It is a time when the government can only ask people to be cautious with Amitabh Bachchan as the voice of reason. People are getting infected with new mutants and symptoms so don’t take it lightly. COVID 19 is not discriminating between rich and poor, everyone is getting positive from Amitabh Bachchan to Sachin Tendulkar to Amit Shah to Donald Trump, nobody is safe. Do not forget, Ignorance is not bliss here.
As PM Modi said, We need effective implementation of containment measures along with strict following of COVID 19 rules.
COVID 19 has messily tangled us and the only way through this is to look after yourself and the people around you. Be human and understand work is important but not more than someone’s life.
