COVID-19 Vaccine: The Only Way to Fight in the Dark

0 0

Have you ever played cards? We all have. The probability of winning can be between 50/50 to 90/10 to 70/30, anything is possible in the gamble of cards. The same is happening in the scenario of the COVID-19 Vaccines.

The old population are getting the first shot with no guarantee of being safe from the attack of Corona Virus. Just mild protection, which varies from person to person irrespective of whether you got yourself a vaccine shot or not.

The government’s suggestion of taking two doses of vaccine towards complete protection against COVID-19 while variants and mutants found in the people who have been administered COVID-19 shots confound me. The government’s stand on taking a second dose can be effective up to 70 per cent is another way of gambling. The two accepted vaccines are Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Serum Institute’s Covishield.

All I can say now is, This is the only way for us to fight in the dark and so, I would encourage the elderly to sign up now and take two doses. The proof of its effectiveness signifies India’s shipping of 64 million doses of vaccines to 84 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean with recipient countries like Canada, the UK, Brazil and Mexico. Even WHO has applauded India despite being a developing country has come forward in aid of other countries while helping its own.

In India, as of today, 2nd April 2021, 36 lakh vaccines have been administered with 6.87 crores of beneficiaries vaccinated till 7 am today. Meanwhile, India has registered 81,466 new COVID-19 cases, the highest since October 2020.

The major COVID-19 stricken states are Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu Chhatisgarh, New Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. Even celebrities like Ranbir Singh, Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan along with God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar have been struck by the second wave of COVID-19.
